Dibs For Dogs Reflections

​​​I started Dibs For Dogs (DFD) because I saw firsthand how hard it can be to find the right service dog, and I wanted to make a difference. Since 2018, I’ve been building this organization with a simple but powerful mission: rescue dogs with service potential and support the handlers who depend on them.

Phase 1 lays the foundation for our mission by raising funds through donations, sponsorships, and discounted shopping experiences. Service dog handlers can participate directly by shopping with exclusive discounts, making it easier and more affordable to provide top-quality food and care for their partners. Every contribution—whether a donation, sponsorship, or discounted purchase—helps support healthier dogs, stronger partnerships, and brighter futures.

Phase 2 focuses on rescue work. As funds allow, we work closely with shelters and rescues to identify dogs with service potential, then coordinate their transport to trainers who use positive methods. This reduces waitlists for trainers, frees up space in rescues for more dogs, and ensures service dogs receive the care and training they need.
